Work to get CRH ready to build our new hospital starts in car parks from today, Monday, 26th January. You will see hoarding going up in our CRH car parks, with work starting shortly after.

Priority parking, and on call, which were located in the A&E car park, has also now been moved to a new area off Dudwell Lane, which is clearly signposted and line marked.

Pictured are Deputy Chief Executive, Jonny Hammond and Contract and Performance Manager, Ian Stevenson, who joined colleagues on the entrances this morning to help signpost colleagues.

This essential work will get the CRH site ready for construction of the new hospital building, routing essential services such as power and water on site, and is expected to complete by early Autumn 2026.

It is still important to leave parking spaces free for our patients and their visitors. Thank you to all colleagues who have been using other ways to get to CRH. It has been making a big difference to our patients and will continue to be an important part of making sure there is minimal disruption on site.

As a reminder, we are asking colleagues to take the following actions:

  • Do not park on site so we leave car parking spaces free for patients and visitors. There continues to be some colleagues parking at CRH who should not be. There will still be extra measures on site, including patrols, colleagues on barriers, and tickets being issued.
  • Use alternative options for travelling to CRH, including our park and ride, shuttle bus service, and public transport. Lots of information on all these options can be found on the intranet.
  • If you are on site, for example, as a priority permit holder, or for a drop off, park in marked bays only, follow signage, and leave routes clear for emergency services.

All pedestrian routes will continue to be open throughout the work.

Thank you for your patience and leaving our parking spaces free for patients and their visitors.

There will be no disruption to the delivery of our services.

Information is being patients, visitors and the public from this week, and is available on the CHFT website: Important information for our patients and visitors during work at Calderdale Hospital - CHFT

You can find all the ways to get to CRH on the intranet here. If you are planning to start using the Park and Ride service, please let us know so that we can consider if we need to allow for any extra spaces in those car parks.

In CHFT News last week, we included some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) which you can at the end of this page here. If you have a question which is not included here, please email: AskReconfiguration@cht.nhs.uk
