It's been a cracker of a year for staff and our youngest patients on the children's ward at CRH.

There's been a stream of visitors and we're so grateful to them all. We've had the lot - Santa, rugby players, football players from Huddersfield and Halifax, the Mayor and Mayoress of Calderdale Coun Howard Blagbrough and Mrs Catherine Kirk  and the boys from Rastrick firestation.

They're all pictured in our gallery below and a massive thankyou to them all for making Christmas 2016 a special one.

Special shoutout this year to the firemen from Rastrick. The firemen launched a Toy Appeal where members of the public could drop off toys and presents to the fire station.

Firefighter Gavin Shaw,  said “Having spent a number of Christmas periods in hospital with my daughter who was diagnosed with leukaemia at the age of two, my family and I have seen first-hand the delight that can be brought to a child's face on receiving a gift specifically chosen for them. The smiles shared between child and parent can help to take the pain away, even if it’s just for a moment.”

Also a JustGiving page was set up for members of the public to donate money so that toys could be purchased. Their target of £2,000 was smashed with £2,252 raised overall.
