Green Beards all round
Mafizur Rahman and Harry Crank from the Pathology Department at HRI had their beards glittered to raise money in aid of White Knights blood bikes whose volunteers provide an out of hours service throughout the night and a full 24hr service on bank holidays including Christmas day.
Many of these volunteers of the charity have full time jobs, yet still give their spare time to help run and maintain this worthwhile charity.
All together £118.00 was donated for the charity.

Kindness boxes update
Like many others, Chemotherapy Outpatients Receptionist Emma Tully and Oncology Healthcare Assistant Anne Marsh from Ward 7 have been supporting the kindness box collection.
Emma told us "I've got all my Christmas preparation done. I'm going to London, so everything is planned, the gifts are ready and I'm excited. But it did make me think when I saw the story about our patients who might be in hospital over Christmas.
"So Anne and I decided to pull a few bits and pieces together - we figured that we coulk still make a difference even with just the two of us doing it! We've really enjoyed getting the gifts together".
An amazing 47 boxes were collected across both sites and have already been distributed to wards. See extra pics below.

Annual NHS Regional Carol Service 2016
The 38th Annual NHS Regional Carol Service took place on 7 December 2016 at York Minster.
Current and former NHS staff across Yorkshire and the Humber, along with their families and friends, joined the congregation in York Minster.
The service of readings and carols signalled the official start of the festive season for many, as NHS staff from around the region gather together in time honoured fashion in the illustrious surroundings of the Minster. Janet Morrison (pictured) was in attendance to represent our Trust where she gave a reading.

Food donations
The pain team at CRH have been collecting food for distribution to food banks.
One proportion has already been delivered to Huddersfield and the items in the picture are being delivered this week to the Ebenezer church in Halifax.
Colleagues decided to do this instead of sending each other Christmas cards and are hoping that the amount they have collected will in some way go towards making Christmas a happier time for those in need.

The Lights of Love Service was held at St Thomas’ Church, Longroyd Bridge Huddersfield.
The service on 9th December 2016 was conducted with around 130 parents and children present. The picture shows people going up to light candles.
Chaplain, George Spencer said “We have parents and families who come to one or two of these services and move on; some come back year after year. The service is offered as just one way of helping people come to terms with what has happened, grieve and find inspiration for the future.”
