Around 1,000 colleagues have been activated at our Tap and Go sessions this week in a "fantastic" turnout.

Tap and Go is the next step along the road to the Electronic Patient Record system which will be introduced next year. Activating sessions were held at the old chapel at CRH where Rob Aitchison is pictured and at Ward 14 at HRI.

Tap and Go is a godsend for anyone who needs to log onto clinical systems, as it means they don't have to constantly remember usernames and passwords - they are logged on in one simple swipe.

Colin Beesting, comms for EPR, said: "There was a fantastic turnout with lots of interest - we even had queues at 8.30 am. What was also good was that after activating their cards people stayed to find out more about EPR. Many came away saying it's not going to be as difficult as they imagined.

“This new way to quickly access many of the commonly used clinical systems  will mean less time is spent with technology and more time with patients.  Tap &  Go is a very quick way of logging into a computer.  It’s really going to speed things up."

** If you didn't get the chance to attend there's a second opportunity to as EPR teams will be coming around the wards to instal card readers to enable you to do it.
