Jamie Higgin's howls of agony brought Director Mike Culshaw running from his office in Pharmacy.
But luckily there was no emergency! It was all for fun for Children in Need and first-time leg shaver Jamie had no idea of the pain coming his way. The extra photos show the calm before the storm as the wax went on ... and the hairs came off!
Jamie a pre-registration pharmacist and Samuel Cummings, ATO from pharmacy stores, both volunteered when colleague Elizabeth Preston put out an appeal. They were both shorn up to the knees to the amusement of their colleagues.
He said: " It was one of the most painful experiences ever. The one up the back leg really stung but it was all for a good cause and I'd do it all again."
Elizabeth said: " Jamie howled a lot! So loud in fact Mike Culshaw came running out to find out what was going on! Samuel had done one before so knew what to expect and was a lot braver as a result! Our team has a terrific spirit, we have a great team and the lads were great!"
The leg shave contributed to £250 for Children in Need by pharmacy at both CRH and HRI. They also ran a chocolate-based quiz, a sweepstake and a cake sale.
**** Congrats too to Record Services who had a dress down day for Children in Need raising £32. See pic attached. Some of the staff really got into the spirit of things dressing up in their pyjamas.
