Amanda Bird last week received the Philip Goodeve-Docker memorial prize from the Queen's Nursing Institute (QNI) for outstanding student during the DN programme.
Amanda, who started work at CHFT in the year 2000 has achieved various qualifications since and is now the District Nurse Team Leader for Northowram and Shelf, so her hard work has certainly paid off.
Interim Associate Director of Nursing Diane Catlowe (pictured with Amanda) said: "We are really proud of the service our District Nurse Team deliver, and it makes us especially proud when one of our nurses is recognised in this way. Amanda is very deserving of this award".
The award is offered to the top performing student of the District Nursing programme in every university in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and each university nominates the District Nurse student who has demonstrated the most outstanding achievement on their programme.
