Matron Mary has shared her personal flu story with us in a short clip. And whilst we're doing really well trust-wide on vaccinations (3434 on Tuesday), we thought it would be a good time to share those frontline roles where we still have the most colleagues left to vaccinate.
You can see what Mary told us about her experience of flu here. Remember it can take 14 days for the antibodies to kick-in, so have it as soon as you can.
Also this week the national press covered a story about a 32 year old fit and well healthcare worker who caught the flu and ended up in an induced coma. She woke up one Christmas morning surrounded by machines. Since then she's had to undergo intensive rehabilitation in order to walk again after her muscles wasted and she lost a stone and a half.
We've included this story to highlight the fact that the simple act of having the vaccination can mean YOU won't have to go through a similar ordeal - and that you can hand on heart say you're protecting your patients, friends and family by having it.
