A recent Simulation User Network meeting attracted almost 40 people from trusts right across Yorkshire and beyond, to let CHFT showcase our great work.
The day was a mixture of presentations and workshops in and around the use of simulation in health care. Most of the speakers were CHFT colleagues sharing experiences and ideas around the training we provide within the Trust.
Clinical Skills & Simulation Technician Caren Reid said "It was a great network meeting. And we've had lots of interest since from people really keen to find out more out the In-situ training, as most don't deliver it from their trusts. We've had great support from our medical education colleagues".
We also had some senior lecturers from Huddersfield University talking about the NESTLED programme, devised by our Simulation Lead, Angela Hope whilst she was a senior lecture at Huddersfield University.
This is a Nurse Educator Simulation based Learning programme, devised as part of a EU funded research project that has now been rolled out worldwide for simulation training. That is ongoing initiative with finical support from the EU and industry for future development. They are already looking to develop a follow-on course to complement and enhance the NESTLED programme an have asked Angela to be involved again. A big plus for CHFT!
And by sheer co-incidence a revolutionary new manikin was on display at CRH earlier this week. It allows users to include diagnostic ultrasound and features real ultrasound cases with pathological findings into full-scale simulations. See the attachments below for photos.
