Safeguarding administrator Karen Marsden is back after a very glam night at the launch of the calendar to raise money in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Karen and her sister are among the models for  the sell-out issue and all were treated to a special night in Glasgow.  Stomach cancer runs in Karen's family and as a result of her mum dying from it and her own diagnosis all her family members are being genetically tested.  Her sister is also undergoing treatment.

The calendar features people who are being treated for, or who have survived, cancer and they include a three-year-old child whose sight is threatened by it.  Karen became involved when she saw an ad in a magazine while she was undergoing her own treatment.  It has so far raised more than £43,000 and is virtually a sell-out, if you would like a calendar Karen can be contacted on her works email: karen.marsden2@cht.nhs.uk; donations can also be made to the justgiving page here....www.justgiving.com/calendar17

Karen said: " My mum died from cancer and then, that was it.  Now they are researching into why cancer is happening especially into genetic research..  Hopefully more cancers will be curable, treatable and preventable.  Being at the event was very humbling when you heard other people's stories, there is always someone who is worse off than yourself.  It was a very emotional night."
