Colleagues from Community were invited to a celebration tea party by Director of Operations Karen Barnett in recognition of their good CQC rating and also their submissions into Celebrating Success 2016.
Karen (main pic stripey dress) said "This was an opportunity for me to personally say a huge thank you and well done to our colleagues. We work in such a spread-out geographical location so we don't often get the opportunity to come together very often.
"I really wanted to celebrate our divisional good CQC rating and also recognise all the Celebrating Success submissions. Our division has just passed it's first birthday so to submit 15 entries was really impressive".
Amongst those there were the Quest for Quality Team (pictured below - left to right Gill Griffin, Carolyn Storm, Jo Kelly, Sarah Jowitt and Cath Whittaker) who work closely with the CCG and care homes across Calderdale to improve the quality of care and help to reduce avoidable hospital admissions and GP visits.
Matron Carolyn said "It's great to come along and support Karen. Although our Celebrating Success entry wasn't shortlisted we felt really valued when we were invited".
And Locality Manager Immunisation Lead, Maria Sutcliffe (who is also a face of the Community flu campaign), said: "Our bid was around increasing the uptake of the HPV vaccination. We weren't shortlisted but I wanted to come today as Karen invited me personally and it's great to have that recognition".
Finance Manager Vicky Hattersley was also at the tea party. "I've only been with the division for a few months but I love it. It's great to celebrate. There are so many opportunities for the future...like growing the service and promoting the work we do. It's an exciting time".
