All the action from Hypo Awareness Week

The annual drive to raise awareness of hypoglycaemia in the UK, by educating healthcare professionals, has taken place this week.

The campaign aims to raise awareness of hypoglycaemia in the UK by educating healthcare professionals about the condition. The theme for this year is optimum control and the autumn awareness drive is calling for a good control of diabetes to avoid hypos.

During the week questionnaires were sent to wards, and stalls set up at both sites to encourage the public and colleagues to fill it in.

Mahen Jamookeeah, Inpatient Diabetes Specialist Nurse said “the turnout was really good , a lot of interest from the public and other colleagues, and we ended up doing education talks as well on the spot guidance and guiding people how to get further support”

If you have received a questionnaire or would like to know more please see the stall in the reception of HRI and CRH which will be there for the rest of the week.
