Homemade cakes, an amazing tombola, a craft stall and hot chocolate turned into a winning recipe at the eye clinic's annual Macmillan Brew up at CRH.

There were so many supporters it all finally ran out mid-afternoon raising an astonishing - and record breaking - £1,212 for the popular event organised by health care assistants Trish Hooson and Roz Waters.

Trish said: "Everybody went bonkers, it was our best ever. They didn't just buy a slice they wanted a whole cake. The support was tremendous. I've got cramp from making brews!"
