On Monday our vaccinators will start providing the first jabs of this flu season across the Trust.

As the photo shows, supervaccinators Jean Robinson and Anne King ensured everyone at today's Weekly Executive Board meeting  were amongst the first be jabbed.

We're looking to vaccinate as many colleagues as possible this year. Please have yours as early as you can and go into our draw to win £50 shopping vouchers.

Last year, more than 3100 colleagues had a ‘flu vaccine to help protect our patients. This year we want to do even better, asking people to have the courage to put our patients first. It’s proven that the more colleagues we vaccinate, the greater the protection there is for others around us. If 75 per cent of the population are vaccinated it means there is better protection for the remaining 25 per cent.

What's different this year?

  • We're making our frontline immunisers more visible – look out for them in their unique t-shirts and armbands and ask them for your jab. And of course they'll be bearing chocolate gifts as ever
  • A full on flu day next Thursday 6 October - we know lots of flu sessions will take place across October but we'll be doing our utmost to vaccinate as many colleagues as possible on this day too
  • A pop-up clinic at the same time every Thursday in October: between midday and 1.30pm outside Spice of Life at HRI and in the Learning Centre at CRH
  • Fridges with the vaccinations will have a magnet so they're easy to spot
  • Weekly prize draw - your chance to win £50 in high street gift vouchers: Once you've had your vaccine, your name will stay in the prize draw until it gets picked, so the earlier you have the jab, the more chances you’ll have to win. The draws will take place each Monday starting 10 October
  • Owen has promised to donate £250 out of his own pocket to charity for the division with the best success story of the campaign
  • A dedicated flu email address for questions or advice: Flu.CHFT@cht.nhs.uk

As well as having more than 130 immunisers there are flu vaccination sessions taking place too:
