It's almost time...and at 5pm next Wednesday an electronic task management system will be available for ward staff to use during evenings, nights, 24/7 weekends & bank holidays.

Colleagues will use a form, available from the HOOP icon in clinical tools on the intranet page (or a phone call to one of our new Clinical Coordinators) to request a “task” i.e. cannulation, ECG, admission, medical review, sick patient.

These non-urgent tasks are then triaged by the Coordinator and allocated out to the doctors, ACPs, and new Clinical Support Workers via the Nervecentre system on iPods.

Urgent tasks, such as chest pain, desaturation, acutely unwell patients will need to be phoned through to the Coordinator. These are known as Red Tasks and the system will not allow them to be electronically submitted.

Each ward will receive Go-Live packs over the coming days with various information and flow chart posters to support colleagues in the early days of using the system.

The team are still out and about training colleagues on the wards. We'd encourage medical staff to make the most of the team’s availability over the days ahead of go-live. We'll still offer training after go-live.
