Dr Mansoor Ali, consultant renal physician, has sent his thanks to Dr Garthwaite for the invaluable services she has provided over the years to patients with kidney problems at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

Dr Garthwaite began working at CHFT in 2008 and was well liked by patients and colleagues alike. Dr Ali said " She'll be missed by all though we're fortunate she's still going to be looking after the HRI renal dialysis unit. It's been a real pleasure working alongside her and we wish her all the best in the future".

Dr Garthwaite said "I've really enjoyed my time at CHFT. A highlight has been setting up the dedicated renal clinics and getting Dr Ali to come onboard.

"All this work means patients with serious kidney disease are treated as near to their own homes as possible which can only be beneficial for them and their families".

Dr Ali also took the opportunity to welcome Dr Victoria Briggs to CHFT as our second renal physician working across sites providing inpatient and outpatient services to those presenting with kidney problems.
