Tears and laughter all round for Ward manager Jayne Binns retirement. Leaving us after 41 years, Jayne was credited for “always encouraging and supporting staff".

 

 

Ward clerk Kim Swift said “It is a sad day for us and everyone wishes her the best”

 

 

Jayne told us “I’ve had an amazing time and loved every minute of it, the people have made this ward feel like a family and I will truly miss them”

 

Clinical lead for Family and Specialist Services, Martin DeBono said:  “Jayne has had decades of experience in the NHS furthering and improving the care given to women requiring breast and gynaecology services. She has demonstrated incredible leadership skills in the way she has developed a strong team of Women’s Health Nursing staff, a legacy which will continue."

Working on the wards to develop high standards of care plus all the people who I’ve worked with have made my job more enjoyable

What will you miss?

All the people I've come into contact with... plus being needed

What are your plans for the future?

Doing up the garden, driving up and down the motorway to see my daughter in London and visiting Ireland
