Our next long service awards will have an absent attendee. It's Moby the catfish - a star on children's outpatients at HRI for 25 years!

The foot-long super fish has been nominated and now it's of- fish-al! So it just proves any-fin is possible.

Secretary, Karen Lubera, remembers him arriving on Corridor 5 before moving across the road. She said: "Moby arrived with lots of other fish, donated by Hopkinsons of Birkby. Who'd have thought he'd still be here!

"Moby was half the size he is now when he first arrived so we're on our fourth tank with him now, and he's also the only surviving fish that came all those years ago.

"He's given us a few frights over the years when we've thought he'd passed away, but he always comes round and we're always relieved because we've grown very fond of him! Just like our young patients have who like to look at him and take their mind off why they're here."

Vanessa Henderson, one of the Long Service events team, said: "This is scale-ing new heights but it is obvious Moby has been a real hit with children over the years. It will be a pleasure to recognise his contribution to the Trust - though I don't know what he will do with his vouchers!"
