The launch of the Incredible Edible Health Centres and Trees for Well Being event took place on Thursday 28 July at CRH with lots of interest from colleagues and visitors.
It was an opportunity to see the work which will be taking place in Health Centres in Calderdale and at the hospital. There was chance to cycle, to make a smoothie, try homemade teas and home-grown produce.
The Trust is working in partnership with Calderdale CCG, Incredible AquaGarden, TD Green Streets funding Rooting and Fruiting and the Community Forest Trust.
Vegetables have been planted just by the learning centre, and we hope to soon have a good choice for visitors and colleagues to help themselves. We also have a herb garden outside the Macmillan Unit and sensory plants in the courtyards around the hospital.
Fruit trees will be planted in various locations around the site later this year and extra seating areas will be in place in the grounds.
Do you enjoy gardening at home, want to have a go, or are generally interested in what's happening with this project at CRH?
Then please get in touch with the service performance team at CRH on x 2530.
There is lots to look forward to and join in whether it be having a go at growing your own veg at home or helping tend the vegetable beds here or in your local Health Centre.
