The Children’s Diabetes team are doing a sponsored walk on the 11th of September to raise money for our trip to Ghyll Head Activity Centre for up to 30 children with diabetes in Calderdale and Huddersfield.
They will start at Milnsbridge on 11/09/16 at 10.30 and finish at Standedge Tunnel (hopefully on the same day!)
On the activity weekend the children get to participate in lots of new challenges and get the opportunity to:
- Learn how to work as a team.
- Learn to manage their condition whilst being away from home
- Observe and discuss other diabetes management and equipment with their peers
- Share experiences of diabetes and work through problems
- Learn the effects of sports and activities on their glucose levels
