Reshaping the workforce to deliver the care patients need - a research report produced by The Nuffield Trust in association with NHS Employers - was published on 17th May 2016.
The Calderdale Framework ( Smith and Duffy 2010) an evidence based workforce transformation tool is cited several times throughout the paper, with case studies of its implementation included across the whole career framework; non registers staff up to Advanced clinical practice
Based at Allan House, the creators of the Calderdale Framework (CF) - physiotherapists Rachael Smith and Jayne Duffy - said: ”It’s fantastic to see something that originated in therapies in this organisation is included in such an important paper.
“This paper is a blue print for organisations looking to redesign and develop their workforce, which, after all, is the most important asset. The evidence from implementations both in the UK (first publication was from here!) and Australia and soon to be from New Zealand have really helped get CF out there to the benefit of patients.”
Rachael and Jayne continue to work part time in CHFT on small scale CF projects. The link to the full paper is here.
