Ward 14 manager, Lynn Stott, has retired after more than 40 years nursing.

She's been counting down the pay days for nearly three years when it was 30 to go, and can't believe the time to her retirement has flown so quickly.

She said: "Every day has been different. I have met a lot of people and there have been many, many changes but I have enjoyed every minute of it. It has been my life."

She trained in Huddersfield in orthopaedic nursing in 1973 and went on to become a staff nurse. For 19 years she worked at the Nuffield in Birkby then came back in 2002.

She has been ward manager on Ward 14 for the past years and has also worked on urology on ward 22. She was closely involved in the intentional rounds and skin bundle work a few years ago.

Her work in lithotripsy - blasting stones away with x-rays - was a finalist in 2015 Celebrating Success and she will return to that work part time at the end of summer.

At her ward party, colleagues gave her flowers, Prosecco and Matalan vouchers, and she had a further do at Grappolo's.
