1 What has been done so far?

  • The initial hierarchy structures have been developed in ESR to reflect the Divisional Management structures (Medical/Corporate/THIS/Surgical)
  • Smartcards have been issued to relevant  managers within these divisions
  • Work has taken place with the Medical Division, Corporate Division and Health Informatics to design an online training packages for managers
  • The  online training package has been tested and piloted

2 What is Next?

  • Divisional Leads within Medical Division, Corporate Division and Health Informatics will be provided with communications to cascade to their managers asking them to access the online training
  • Upon successful completion of the online training, managers within these divisions will be given access to ESR and begin using this for updating appraisal, absence records and complete terminations directly into the Electronic Staff Record (ESR).  Managers will have access to a wide range of real time workforce metrics using the Business Intelligence reporting suite, which allows managers to quickly view information such as teams, training records, absences records, and professional registration.  As a result the role of the Training Data Inputter (TDI) will no longer be required.

3  What do Divisions need to do?

  • Divisional Leads need to ensure managers are familiar with  ESR prior to doing their online training
  • Divisional Leads need to ensure managers have a Smartcard as this is the only way they can access Manager ESR
  • Divisional Leads  need to let everyone know that Manager ESR will be coming to their divisions
