Colleagues from across the Trust were out in force supporting World Hand Hygiene Day last week at HRI.

The focus this year is "See what's on your hands" with the message that hand hygiene supports safe surgical care and to practice hand hygiene for surgical patients from admission to discharge.

The day aims to encourage hand hygiene for surgical patients from the admission of a patient to their discharge. Around 313 million people undergo surgery every year worldwide.
