The CHFT inbox recently received some glowing words from a family who have lost their 90-year-old father.
Elizabeth Collins, writes:
"My father was admitted to CRH late on 01/04/16 age 90 and very poorly. It was agreed he should be put on an end of life pathway the following morning and he died at 5 am on 07/04/16.
"The Nursing Staff on every shift could not have been kinder, more sensitive or cared more for my wonderful Dad or for my two sisters and me. Dad was too poorly to be taken back to the nursing home so was given his own room and we were allowed to stay with him for 6 days until he passed away.
"The doctors ensured he was not in pain and his pain relief was monitored at regular intervals. CRH and the NHS should be proud of the commitment, competence and dedication of the teams who work on Ward 2D, some of whom are much younger than my own adult children.
"They helped us through a difficult time of life and for that I am truly grateful. I hope my comment are forwarded to the Senior Management Team at the hospital."
