Staff nurse, Sara Hill, recently visited CHFT in the A&E and CCU departments at Calderdale Royal Hospital but this time to receive care rather than provide it.

Here is what she had to say about the 'amazing' staff who looked after her:

"I am a nurse (39 years old) who has recently been on the other side of the fence so to speak. On Feb 27 I attended A and E with chest pains and nausea and the care I received in A and E was A1!!!

"My husband and I had a full day in the department and then CDU and the nursing staff were amazing. From CCU I was transferred to CCU with a raised trop (blood test) and was been treated at first for a possible heart attack, this came as an enormous , horrific shock to both my husband and I.

"Once transferred to CCU again the care was A1... Emotionally, physically and socially. I did write my comments down at the time whilst still an inpatient. The cardiac rehab team also were amazing.

"I would like to thank all the truly fantastic doctors and nurses in A and E and CCU for my outstanding care, from the nurse who sat with me the first night whilst I poured my heart out to her, the cleaners and porters, a truly wonderful team, hope you all get to read this... Thank you!"
