Starting from the 1st May and running through to the opening of the Olympics on the 5th August, you can join colleagues in over 50 NHS organisations as they walk, run, ride, swim and dance their way to Rio before the start of the Olympics.

Race To Rio is being made available to you, free of charge by your organisation. It is intended to be as competitive or as fun as you wish.

You can start or join teams, take part as an individual or just dip in and out when you see something that appeals.

The overall aim of the Race To Rio is to travel to as many virtual training camps in nations participating in the Olympics as possible.

To travel, all you need to do is to log your physical activities and/or sports in your personal profile space and the website will work out which destinations you have reached and where is next.

What next?

As of now the registration system is open, this allows you to register for the start on the 1st May. You can also start a team and ask up to 4 of your colleagues to join you (they will be sent an automatic invitation).

Or you can join an existing team one of your colleagues has already started. Click here for more information - to start the registration you simply need to select your organisation.

From the drop down menu and you'll be guided through the quick form. Once you have registered we'll keep you up to date with the launch information and make sure you're ready for the 1st May.
