Our theatres team at HRI has reached the finals of the Examiner's Pride of Huddersfield awards.
They are in the running for the "Friend of the Year" award for all their support after their colleague Obe Morake was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Obe sadly passed away in January but they made it possible for all his family to be together in Holmfirth at Christmas to make it extra special when his time was running out.
They started a fundraising campaign which spread across the Trust so they could help his family join him here from South Africa. Colleagues across the Trust soon joined in.
They also went carol singing outside his house, arranged for him to attend a football match and went to huge lengths to create a special time including helping with arrangements for him to be buried in his homeland in South Africa.
The awards are on May 27 at the John Smith Stadium in Huddersfield.
Come on theatres!!
