Dr Jeena Ackroyd and Dr Rachel Sheils who are both consultants in Palliative medicine at CHFT recently completed a national survey looking at what interventions hospices in the UK provide for haematology patients.
Their project was accepted as an oral presentation at the national Palliative Care Congress held in Glasgow in March.
They also presented two audits as posters: The management of Diabetes Mellitus at the end of life within CHFT and blood transfusions in the hospice setting.
The Congress was a fantastic opportunity for them both to present their research but they have also come back with innovational ideas on how to improve patient care and their services in different areas.
