Tomorrow, our CEO Owen Williams and Emergency Care consultant Mark Davies are hosting another session at CRH to talk about the proposed healthcare changes affecting hospital and community care for us all.
It will be in the Parentcraft Room in the Maternity Department from 9.15-10.15 am.
It is the second of two this week. The first was at Acre Mills on Tuesday hosted by Owen and our medical director David Birkenhead.
As you are probably aware, our CCGs (clinical commissioning groups) are looking to go out to consultation on a proposal which would see a new-built hospital with 10 theatres to be a planned care centre at HRI and CRH becoming the Emergency care centre for our two populations of Calderdale and Greater Huddersfield. Both will have Urgent Care Centres. There will also be extensive development of care in the community - in people's homes, in residential and nursing home and in GPs and healthcentres.
The Trust very much wants colleagues to get involved in the process called "Have Your Say" and these two sessions were to deliver and update and the broader pictuire pf what the proposed changes will mean for everyone at CHFT and in the NHS.
There will be a range of information sessions at CHFT and across Calderdale and Huddersfield in the next months and the consultation - which has not yet formally been set - is expected to last around 14 weeks.
