Microsoft has now introduced their latest version of Internet Explorer browser – IE11.

The Health Informatics Service (THIS) IT Department intends to upgrade ALL current web browsers to the latest version IE11 over the coming weeks.

The deployment will be implemented via a phased approach; it is essential that we move to this version to ensure we are compliant, supported, secure and protected from ever increasing internet vulnerabilities.

Previous versions of IE will not be updated by Microsoft security patches in the future. All new I.T. hardware will automatically be deployed with IE11 as standard.

As with all new upgrades, comprehensive testing is taking place prior to deployment, THIS has engaged with a number of Clinical and Corporate departments throughout the Trust as part of this process to ensure compatibility of all known systems.

There are approximately 900 IE11 browsers currently being accessed within the Trust without issue. For more info see attached.
