Electronic Staff Record Manager Self Service
What has been done so far?
Employee self-service has been introduced within the Trust. Employee self-service allows employees to access online payslips, view Total Reward pension statements and update their personal information such as address and change of bank account.
What is Next?
During 2016, Manager self-service will be implemented across the Trust. This is a management tool that allows managers to update appraisal, absence records and complete terminations directly into the Electronic Staff Record (ESR). Managers will have access to a wide range of real time workforce metrics using the Business Intelligence reporting suite, which is available through Manager self-service. This will allow managers to quickly view information such as teams, training records, absences records, and professional registration.
What do Divisions need to do?
The Workforce Information Team will be sending out ESR employee lists to each Division to validate the employees in their area. The hierarchy (this is the organisational structure showing line managers with the employees they are responsible for) will be created in readiness for Manager self-service. Data quality is key. Managers will own and be responsible for employees within their hierarchy.
Communication
The ESR Projects Team will ensure that regular communication is provided across the Trust as implementation commences in March 2016.

All staff from both Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust are invited to an exciting opportunity to hear both the Medical Director and CCIO (Clinical lead for EPR) talk about their experiences of going live with a new EPR across their whole hospital in October 2014.
They will talk about the challenges of implementation and the work done afterwards to stabilise the system and achieve benefits. They will tell us about working in a hospital with a fully deployed EPR, what to expect and the issues we may face.
This is a unique opportunity to hear the staff that led the single largest EPR implementation in the UK and is particularly relevant to our Trusts at this point in our EPR journey.
Staff from either Trust are welcome at any of the events.
