As a Trust we have excellent infection control and prevention measures in place. However, recently there have been instances where the basics are not being applied.

Lead Infection Prevention Control Nurse, Jean Robinson explains why it's important to keep side doors closed:

"When a patient is isolated for infection control reasons, it is important to ensure that the side room door remains closed. This helps provide a physical barrier both to contain the spread of infection and to reinforce the importance of good infection control practice when entering and leaving the patient environment.

Many thanks

Jean"
