Our former CEO Eva Lambert, who lives in Salendine Nook. has been recognised for her contribution  sport, education and health in the community in the New Year Honours list.

Mrs Lambert, 69,  enjoyed a  25-year career in the health service, rising from salaries and wages clerk in 1973 to chief executive of Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust from 1992 to 1997 and introduced a new clinically-led management structure during her time with us. In the attachment she is pictured with our former chairman Garrick Graham

Away from the Trust, she has contributed to many areas of community life in Huddersfield with associations with Greenhead College - which nominated her for the award - and the Huddersfield Lawn Tennis and Squash Club where she was finance director, chairman and tennis director. She was instrumental in gaining amateur sports club status in 2006, opening up the club to the wider community and schools and, under her guidance, further funding has become available. At the college Eva brought her considerable financial and managerial expertise to her role as governor from 2003, vice-chairman from 2008 and chairman of governors from 2010 to 2015.
