Our Medical Director David Birkenhead put a call out to colleagues this week urging them to get their vaccine before the ‘flu virus starts to spread.

Here is his full message:

Over the past three years Public Health England have monitored ‘flu levels across our region, which have increased significantly during the last week in December and in the first three weeks of January.  Last winter there were some very ill children and adults cared for by our dedicated teams at CHFT and it is likely there will be the same this winter.

The vaccine takes up to two weeks to build up a level of antibodies (immunity to protect us against ‘flu) so don’t delay another day, get your vaccine now for a ‘flu free Christmas season’.

Vaccine immunisers are available Trust-wide
