It is the party season but the address on Janette's Cockroft's invitation takes a bit of beating. No 10 Downing Steet.

She spent two hours in the historic reception rooms inside the most famous address in the land with David Cameron and Jeremy Hunt and about 200 other healthcare professionals.

Janette said: "It was a real surprise when I received an email with an invitation to represent the Trust at No 10 Downing Street.

“It was an amazing experience to be walking through the door up the famous staircase passed photos of a generations of prime ministers and into the historical reception rooms full of inspirational, passionate nurses and leading health professionals.”

"There were opportunities to network with professionals from all over the country and listen to the developments such as Vanguard and community initiatives working towards further developing services for our patients. People are undertaking work to further improve services for people suffering from dementia and long term conditions, supported by technology and service integration. The CQC was of course a topic of conversation.

"It was an amazing experience and very much an honour to be nominated to attend an audience with the prime minister David Cameron and Secretary of state for Health Jeremy Hunt alongside 200 other nurses and health professionals from across the UK.

"Mr. Cameron spoke with passion about the current state of the NHS and thanked us all for our continued dedication and commitment to providing quality care for all and the continually investment that has been committed to our world renowned service. I felt very proud to be a nurse and to represent our Trust”
