Our pharmacy team at HRI joined in the fundraising on Friday, taking part in selling merchandise..... as well as getting rid of some pesky hair.

Pharmacist Ian Harrison took the plunge and volunteered to have his legs waxed (and we all winced and shared his pain). Ouch!  He said: "Those hairs have been there for 47 years and didn’t want to come out – not pain exactly more of a shock especially round my hairy knees!

"But anyway all for a good cause and the old adage still stands “no pain – no gain”

And quality control manager, Andy Singleton, very bravely offered to have his head shaved for the cause.  See the photos!

The fun continued throughout the day, as Pharmacy Technician Kathryn Smith came in a Pudsey Onesie alongside Pharmacy ATO, Samuel Cummings. Pictured again.

Everyone tucked in to lots of baked goodies and treats including cake and buns, and all other staff arrived in spotty clothes on the day.

Pharmacy Technician, Elizabeth Preston, told us:”We had a fantastic day raising money for a great cause. The Pharmacy team are a brilliant bunch and always pull out all the stops for charity. I'm very proud to work with such a fantastic team.“

In total, our team in Pharmacy raised a whopping £210, which continues to grow as they collect sponsorship money.

And the team from Occupational Health raised more than £60 as they took their flu trolley around the hospitals. In the attachment above Sean Walker from Security is getting his jab and having a tasty cake at the same time.
