CHFT have been at the University of Huddersfield promoting the importance of signing the organ donor register and telling your family your wishes.

The campaign was set up in order to promote public awareness about organ donation and transplant, encourage people to join the NHS Organ Donor Register and to encourage people to share their donation decision with their family and friends.

At the event, students interested in registering to become an organ donor could do so by spending just two minutes signing up on an CHFT ipad.

Specialist nurse, Jayne Greenhalgh, who attended the event said: "It's been a fantastic opportunity to work alongside the University of Huddersfield to promote Organ Donation within the community. 3 people still die every day in the UK waiting for an Organ Transplant, therefore our aim is to raise public awareness and get people talking to their families about their wishes."

Currently, there are 6,668 poeple waiting for a transplant, and so considering being a donor is more important than ever (information correct week beginning November 9th).
