Rehab Assistant Lisa Gray has worked at CHFT for six years - and this year for the first time ever she had her flu jab at her local GP.
"I have regular injections meaning my immune system is supressed by 50%. So last time I visited my GP I had the vaccination. I don’t know what I worried about….I was fine.
“I knew the vaccination was on offer as I’ve worked here for six years. I’d heard mutterings of ‘it makes you poorly’ or ‘my arm hurt afterwards’ – so I chose not to have it.
"But this year was different. Working out in the community means it’s even more important to protect myself and our patients."
Lisa made sure she told Occupational Health she'd had the jab - and we're asking all colleagues to tell us, either through the self-declaration button on our seasonal flu pages, though their line manager or by dropping a quick mail to occupational.healthCHT@cht.nhs.uk
Drop-ins
We're asking colleagues to be heroes like Pudsey with a special combined cake sale/flu drop-in session at Occupational Health at CRH tomorrow Friday 13 November. Running between 9am and 3pm you can literally have your cake, and eat it - as well having your vaccination at the same time! See attached poster for information.
