Hot on the heels of our this year's Celebrating Success awards, CHFT is launching our Star Award - a new monthly recognition scheme aimed at shining the light on our fantastic colleagues and the work they do every day.

Launching the Star Award at this week's Big Brief, our  Chief Executive Owen Williams said: "We're going to celebrate the hell out of that person for the work they do. I know what often works is just somebody saying thank you or well done. Simple words but in the hurly burly of life people can forget to say them."

We're looking for someone - or a team - who has been a real star,  has gone above and beyond the call of duty, has really made a difference for our patients and their families and who really demonstrates our four pillars: we put the patient first; we go see; we work together to get results; and we do the must dos? 

We know there are so many individuals and teams out there.

So, shortly we will be making nomination forms available for the first award which will be presented in December.

So how will it work?

• Nominations will close on the last day of the month (nominations received after this will go into the following month's entries)
• A panel will review the nominations and choose an overall Star (there will be a prize of £50)
• Cue celebrations! Nominees and winners will be shared across our Trust
