Rachel James said her last goodbyes this month as she bid farewell to Huddersfield Birth Centre where she has worked as a midwife.

Rachel has worked for our Trust for 29 years, including with community and our antenatal clinic, and her last eight years were spent at Hudderfield Family Birth Centre.

As her colleagues all wished her well for the future.  Rachel was very sad to leave as she worked her last shift and will be arranging some leaving celebrations soon to celebrate in style.

Recently she had become a neonatal life support trainer and contibuted to the development of emergency training days on the Birth Centre, and as a valued member of the team she will continue to be on our staff bank.

Clinical Manager of Birth Centres, Carol Sarr, said: "Rachel will be really missed by all for many reasons including her experience, caring ways and her wicked sense of humour. We all wish her well in her new adventure."
