Our team smashed the Great North Run raising more than £1,000 for Multiple Sclerosis Society. They all notched up personal bests on a very warm race day and jelly babies and ice pops kept them going.

Vicky Woodward said: "To sum it up it was a brilliant day! The weather was s little on the warm side and the disruption to the metro trains meant we very nearly didn't make the start! We just got there in time and had to climb under the barriers to get in! The people of the North East really make the day. They are amazing... handing out everything from jelly babies to ice pops!

"One man was even handing out little beakers of lager! Saying it was isotonic lager!!! We all got personal bests so we were all really happy! I was aiming for under 2 hours but got 2 hours 14 seconds!! Oh well maybe next year!"

We would like to thank everyone who sponsored us! Everyone's been really generous!
