Congratulations to the 60% of colleagues who have made a good start in completing your mandatory training for 2015-16. The new approach requires each of us to complete the eight fields of mandatory training currently available. Those subjects are

  • Equality, diversity and human rights
  • Fire safety
  • Health, safety and well being
  • Infection prevention and control
  • Information governance
  • Moving and handling
  • Prevent training
  • Safeguarding children and adults

A further two subjects will be added before the end of the year and they are conflict resolution and dementia awareness.

This learning ensures that all colleagues have the knowledge and skills needed to provide a safe environment for our patients and ourselves and so deliver our vision of outstanding compassionate care to the communities we serve.

You can find lots of helpful information and tools to help you achieve your mandatory responsibility on the trust intranet. Go to the blue mandatory tab on the homepage, here’s the link.

The web page has information about how to access the mandatory training programme from work or home so that you can fit it in when it best suits you and remember too that most of the packages, as they are e-learning have the option to do the assessment before doing the whole package. If you pass the questions in the assessment then you already know what you need to know. This means you gain your competence and save some time.

Give it a try today and turn your competence profile from red to green for 2015.
