Paediatrics Diabetes Specialist Nurse Maria Whiteley retires today (Thursday 27 August).

Maria has worked for CHFT for 23 years and retired for "the first time" two years ago, though she soon returned to work on a part-time basis.

Patient Advocate Jo Kitchen said: "I'll miss Maria because she's so dedicated to her role. She's been a brilliant and valued support for the team and everyone counts her as their friend. I know she's looking forward to spending more time in her allotment and travelling for her second retirement!"
