As we approach April and the start of our next annual leave year, a reminder that our annual leave purchase scheme gives colleagues the option to buy extra leave..... and buying now means you can spread the cost throughout the whole year.
Colleagues can purchase up to 10 days additional annual leave each in a year (pro-rata for part time employees).
The scheme is great for colleagues who might want to take leave in excess of their accrued annual leave entitlement for a variety of reasons.
The basic points to note are:
- Your manager will take into account safe staffing levels and whether or not you have carried forward any annual leave from the previous year
- Colleagues will not be able to work on the bank or take overtime on purchased annual leave days
- Leave can be purchased at any point throughout the year - it can be paid for during the remainder of the year against your salary, or as a salary sacrifice scheme (as long as it doesn't take your earning below the national minimum wage)
- Colleagues must complete a form which is sent to their manager for approval and processing
