A massive well done to our ISS Colleagues for an amazing award last night at the UK's cleaning "Oscars".

They scooped the Best Cleaned Premises of a Healthcare Establishment with more than 250 beds at the Golden Service Awards at the Hilton Hotel in Park Lane.

They are held every two years and are the regarded as the very pinnacle for the industry and when our colleagues were announced as winners it stunned everyone.

Operations Manager Gillian Porter, said: “We’ve entered before and not won so we thought we'll give it one last go and then when it actually was us we just looked at each in shock. We couldn't believe it."

The trophy was shared with the cleaning team at CRH this morning and Gillian bought cakes all round in to share the celebrations.

She said: “We have around 150 people in our cleaning team and everyone single one of them deserves a trophy because they all work so hard. This trophy is for them all."

The judges from the British Institute of Cleaning Science toured CRH last year for an intensive scrutiny. They were looking at overall standards, training, health and safety and compliance, completed a thorough walk-round looking a different flooring types and their cleanliness.

Val Rigg, Quality Performance and Service Manager for CHFT, provided a client testimonial in support of their work.

The Golden service website said the judges were looking for high standards of cleanliness, a good understanding of the site, teamwork, good management skills, difficulties faced and how they have been overcome, effectiveness of staff and good communication with clients.  A client testimonial was also required.
