Our library team made the most of keeping secrets on Valentine's Day, by handing out gift-wrapped books to colleagues!

Linda Black and colleague engagement advisor Sam Lindl took the tea trolley around some of the wards, and non-clinical areas, but instead of handing out tea, they were handing out books.

The popular fiction books were wrapped up, so the lucky recipient did not know what the title was.  Linda and Sam also visited the medical secretaries, who were delighted with their literary gifts. They wanted to make sure colleagues knew the library was a resource for the all CHFT colleagues to use.  They also made a quick stop on Ward 8C and gave out more books and more information about how the library could be used.

The next event the team at The Library will is a craft session on Tuesday 10th March, 4pm to 6pm, (so look out for further updates).  There is also a jigsaw waiting to be done, and an infinity scarf waiting for a few more rows of knitting.  Library Manager, Helen Curtis is a health and wellbeing champion, so the library is the perfect place to promote activities that could help with relieving stress and provide a respite from busy lives.

Since our refurbishment last year, we can offer a space away from the wards, where you can have a quiet half an hour to read, or bring your knitting!

It's a bright, airy, spacious and welcoming. It is also fine to bring your favourite drink. We open every Monday to Friday at 8.30am and close at 5pm on Mondays, 6.30pm on Tuesday to Thursday and 4.30pm Friday.

If you are struggling with your Essential Safety Training, we have members of the workforce team here every Wednesday between 10am and 2pm to offer help with your ESR.
