The family of former auxilary nurse and latterly ward clerk, Kathy Moger have asked us to let friends and former colleagues know that she sadly died on Saturday 8th February at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

Kathy, pictured left in her uniform, was an auxiliary nurse at Halifax General Hospital in the mid 70s.

She took a career break and returned to nursing in the early 1990s, working on Ward 1 from 1990 to 1994.  She also worked on wards 2 and 12 and then ward 9 from 1997 to 2000.

She then worked on ward 6cd as an auxiliary and as a ward clerk on the same ward, retiring in 2007.

Kathy's daughter and Personal Assistant for the Surgical Divisional, Jacqui Howarth (pictured bottom left) said: "Mum made loads of friends in the course of her NHS career at Halifax General Hospital, then Calderdale Royal Hospital, and continued to meet up with many of them socially.

"The tributes to her on the Halifax Hospital Then and Now Facebook page have been a great comfort to the family and show how much she was loved".

Kathy’s funeral is on Monday, 24th February, 12 noon at Park Wood Crematorium in Elland.  All are welcome and Kathy requested that everyone wear bright clothes.

No flowers please, but a collection for donations in lieu of flowers will be held at the service.  Alternatively, Kathy’s grandson, Jack Howarth, is running the Great Manchester run in her memory and donations can be made here:  https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/greatmanchesterrun10k-jackhowarth
