Our Outpatients Tranformation team have scooped another award.

Big well done to Project 20:20 and lead Helen Gaukroger  for bringing home the trophy from the Yorkshire and Humber  Healthcare Financial  Management Association awards.

On her return we asked Helen a few questions.

How did it feel to win? It felt absolutely fantastic to win and to know that our achievements have been recognised.

Are you proud of what has been achieved by the team?. This has been a real team effort and I am so proud of what the team has achieved so far – this award is just the icing on the cake!

Which are most effective O/P Transformation schemes?  It honestly would be impossible to choose which are the most effective as every outpatient scheme is having a positive impact on our patients and the way in which they access our outpatient services. We are now delivering a range of new outpatient models including one-stop clinics, straight to test, virtual consultations, telephone follow-ups and video appointments. We have some really exciting schemes being developed for next year so watch this space…

It feels like CHFT is at the forefront of 20:20 nationally. Is that right? Of course! We started this journey back in 2017 and the pace and scale at which our clinical teams have moved is now being recognised both regionally and nationally

Tell us how we've done it?  We haven’t taken a text book approach to this. All our schemes are developed by our clinical teams and co-designed with our patients and partners. We have a wide range of models being piloted and rolled out and the clinical support to this programme has been amazing!
