We've a new video and informaton leaflet from our Physiotherapy Team with advice for colleagues who normally sit at a desk all day. It shows simple moves to keep your muscles healthy. We're also offering new support for agile workers at some pilot drop-in sessions.

The video and leaflet helps promote the importance of moving our posture regularly - and they are especially useful for colleagues who sit at their desk for much of their job.

As part of our New Year, New me campaign our Physiotherapy Team are visiting areas and demonstrating useful and easy to do excercises.

Women's Health Specialist Physiotherapist, Angie Thompson, who is visiting teams at CRH, said "It's really important to take micro breaks every 20 minutes or so. Our muscles and joints are meant to move regularly, and even our our eyes have muscles!

"It's helpful that we don't sit or stand in the same posture for too long - so even just standing-up, sitting down or moving your eyes away from the computer will help keep your muscles flexible".

Watch this video of Angie demonstrating some of their moves to colleagues in the MSK office at CRH and see their leaflet below if you want to have a go.

Angie visited the Medical Records team recently and Record Services Team Leader, Theresa Donnelly said "Records staff engaged very positively when Angie came to the department to demonstrate to office exercises to them to help reduce MSK strain."

And at HRI, Clinical Lead Physiotherapist for Spinal Pathologies, Lara Gill is popping along to team with their advice.
