We have two teams through to the finals of the Yorkshire and Humber Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) awards at Brigg in Humberside.

We have been shortlisted for Finance Team of the Year Award and Project 20:20  Transforming Outpatients is through to the  final of the Close Partnering and Collaboration category.

The Finance Team's (pictured top) submission was based on all their work over the past  twelve months to promoting and improving teamwork, innovation, collaboration, transformation and governance.

The team was described as   "an amazing place to work, with a great range of different skills and personalities and a “can do attitude.” They pride themselves on not missing a deadline and excellent standard of reporting. They have also introduced an improved budget performance framework to help colleagues effectively manage their budgets.

Deputy Director of Finance, Kirsty Archer, said : "I am delighted that we have been shortlisted for the regional Finance Team of the Year Award.  It is testament to the hard work and commitment of the team and the work that they are doing to ensure that we do the must dos and more! "

Project 20:20 were nominated for Close Partnering and Collaboration

With over 350,000 physical outpatient attendances each year, this programme is changing the outpatient offer from a traditional approach where patients are referred into hospital  to one where individuals are empowered with fast access to advice and support, self-management information and, where needed, are able to see the right clinician as quickly as possible.

It was also in the finals of the HSJ Awards 2019 - so a double for the team! They are pictured there.

An Outpatient Transformation Board was established and membership includes clinical and managerial leads for the Trust and both local CCGs, GP Federations across two geographical areas, Local Medical Committees, Health Watch, Patient/User, and the Project Team. It regularly feeds back to the Health and Wellbeing Boards and Overview and Scrutiny Committees.

Assistant Director of Finance, Helen Gaukroger, who heads up the team, said: " We are really proud to be nominated for another award, we feel this really reflects the true joint working that is happening as part of this programme across the system."
